BAM Construction

This is a heavily typographical project I worked on in the latter half of 2013 with McCann Blue agency in Dublin for BAM Construction. The brief was to create 17 large scale illustrations under the title 'The Art of Construction' that would run 400m at the junction at Newlands Cross.

The idea was to illustrate all of the ingredients that will go into N7 Newlands Cross Freeflow that is is currently under construction and will take two years to complete. I wanted to create 17 distinctive illustrations, all hand drawn, conveying the staggering amount of work, material and man-hours that go into a project of the this scale.

I also wanted to keep them as simple as possible so that they would be easy to read and not too distracting for drivers as they pass. At the same time I wanted the artwork to work as a single piece so used a full spectrum of colours to create a gradient as the viewer passes by.

The Hoarding was in place for 2 years until the road was completed.
